Panchakarma

Basti
Basti therapy is one of the major pancharma treatments. Ayurvedic basti refers to the introduction of certain oils, herbal concoctions, and sometimes milk or other liquids through the perineum- anus, urethra in men or vagina in women. Basti is the most effective treatment for vata dosha or vata disorders. The term 'Basti' literally means bag or bladder. In ancient times, sterilized urinary bladders of animals were used to inject the fluids into the rectum. No need to worry we do not use such type of animal parts for treatment instead ee use steralized equipments.

Abhyanga
This treatment is a balancing massage of herbs and oils on the body, which has a rejuvenating effect on the entire system. It is effective for better sleep, flexibility, fatigue, dryness and muscle health. Depending on the person, different oils are used to bring the Doshas into balance.

Shirodhara
This is a head massage followed by pouring of warm herbal oils on the forehead. This treatment helps to calm and harmonize, as well as place a person into a deep relaxation mode. It is effective for better memory, headaches, neck pain, and problems regarding the senses, arthritis and stiffness

Udvarthanam
Ayurvedic herbal powders are massaged to the body. The skin is the biggest organ of the body and this treatment helps to cleanse and detox through skin directly. This treatment is good for people wishing to lose weight as the skin works more efficiently to rid itself of toxins as well as helping with digestion and circulation.

Swednam
Here the body is taken through a sweating process, which helps to open the pores of the skin. If the oils penetrate deeper in skin, their healing effects are also more powerful. At the same time more toxins are release by the skin through the process of sweating.

Marma Therapy
Marmas are pressure points on the entire body and when they are touched or massages in the correct manner they can be healing and balancing, bringing pain relief through the opening of blocked energy. We can call it as a smart massage also as it has greater benefits with little effort in a shorter time. Marma massage opens these energy channels for optimum mental and physical health, greater thinking power and balance.

Nasya
Nasya is the massage of sinus areas and instillation of herbal oils into the nasal passages that can bring relief from different allergies such as Asthma or Hay fever. These sinus passages need to be kept very healthy to avoid allergies, dryness and irritation in sinus areas. Nasya helps get rid of headaches, dandruff, and sinusitis and throat problems and intellect.

Karnapurna
Warm oils are poured into the ear passages to help clean as well as nourish the inner ear drums and bones. The effect of this treatment leaves the person feeling warmth and calmness

Netra Tarpana
The eyes are covered with oil by making a pool around eyes with dow. This procedure helps from any strain or stress in eyes muscles. This treatment helps with weakness, dryness, injury and pain in the eyes.

Pizhichil
Pizhichil is a special form of Ayurvedic treatment that combines rich oil massage with a special heat treatment. This therapy is known as the “King’s Treatment” or “Royal Treatment” due to its popularity with the Maharajas of ancient India. During this treatment 2-3 liters of medicated warm ayurvedic oil is continuously poured over the body while two practitioners rub and stimulate the skin using hands and special cotton clothes. The process is performed with the person lying face down and also faces up. This is a highly rejuvenating treatment that enhances muscular tone and retunes the entire nervous system. It comes as a package in itself – a course of 10 days is necessary to gain its maximum healing potential.

Pindasweda or Navrakhizi
Pindasveda is a highly effective rejuvenation treatment designed to revitalize the entire body. A special type of rice that is cooked, tied into a cotton ball, dipped into an herbal mixture with warmed milk and then skillfully massaged into the body by one or two therapists simultaneously. The entire body is covered and the healing properties of the herbs are easily absorbed and utilized through the skin.

Sirovasthi
Sirovasthi is the procedure wherein the medicated oil is retained on the head for a prescribed period. Oil is then removed from the head by bending the head slightly and making a small opening in the bandage. The palms, soles, shoulders, ears. .etc. must be made warm by gentle rubbing. Fresh oil is applied on the body and head and made to bath with lukewarm water and Rasnadi Choornam is applied ont he vertex.

Kativasthi
A unique treatment that involves a specific region of the body being soaked in a ‘pool’ of warm, medicated oil. A dam of herbal dough is 'built' on afflicted area, is filled with oil and then left to rest - relieving localised pain, tension and swelling. Leaves the region in question feeling extremely nourished. Kativasthi relieves chronic and acute backaches, muscle spasms, prolapsed disc, lumbar spondylosis, osteoporosis and sciatica.

Urovasthi
Urovasti is a treatment of Ayurveda similar to Kativasti in treatment method. Urovasti is administered to the Uras or the chest to treat pain in the sternum area. As in Kativasti, a reservoir is built up on the chest with black gram paste. Oil is poured into this and retained there for some time.

Thalam
Thalam is the name for the treatment procedure of retaining medicines over the center of the head using the help of a tailor-made cap. It is considered to be a shorter and easier version of Shirolepa and in the ancient days it was a treatment prescribed for mental illness. Now it has been re-designed as a mode of treatment for the conditions arising out of modern day life style diseases; Lack of memory, lack of willpower, lack of concentration, etc.

Lepanam
This form of treatment relieves various inflammatory diseases of the body. These include rheumatoid arthritis, abscess, osteoarthritis, edema, back aches, head aches, skin diseases, etc. Lepanam is spreading of thick herbal paste on any afflicted area of the body. The paste is a blend of many potential herbs, spices and juice of leaves.

Mukhalepam
It’s the secret of glowing skin. This treatment includes a full facial massage and face pack with medicated oils serving to enhance tone and texture, prevent blemishes and ease general skin conditions.
